My paintings have smooth, subtle textures and vibrant colors. I try to reveal beauty in uncommon places to explore the mystery of life. My subjects come from my imagination but are directly influenced by my visual and emotional experiences with nature. The Southern environment has a big impact on my art: the relaxing sanctuary from the heat; cool, refreshing water; the eerie blue-green summer nights; the early morning crispness before the scorching day. It's these moments of quiet tranquility, when the air is thick and I feel I am the only person alive, that I want to bring into existence through my paintings.
