Biography

Allison J Smith creates fine art oil paintings that focus on color and texture. Her abstracts use visual cues to express emotional states. Her work has been shown in seven states, at 13 galleries and two museums. She has been published seven times and has a diverse education from three art schools. She received her BFA in painting at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she studied under Peter Wayne Lewis, Dean Nimmer, Marcia Lloyd and Christopher Chippendale, among others.

Allison was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She has visited 30 states and 3 countries and loves exploring culture. She has drawn and taken photographs her entire life and has been oil painting on a regular basis since 1996. She currently has a studio in Atlanta, Georgia, where she paints everyday.
